The simplicity of the studio can bring out the small details
Because the studio removes the potential distraction of the background the focus is very much on the subjects within the photograph. The clarity of the studio light brings out the best in skin tones and enhances every aspect of the subject from the clothes right through to the detail of the eyes.
The lighting provides the perfect opportunity to work with both colour as well as black & white. I find that most studio photographs work equally in either format and so you get to chose which version you prefer and quite often both are selected. B&W can remove the distraction of colour whereas colour can give the photograph a vibrancy that 'pops'.
The studio shoot tends to produce a session that gives the problem of which photographs to select for the editing process. I typically get about 50 to 70 photographs for a typical 45 minute session.
A very unique photoshoot that produces a stunning set of images that standout when printed and displayed either in a frame of as a large print on a wall
By placing "The Target", which is actually the photographer with a target on his head, and then saying see who can knock the target of my head, the fun starts. I must be mad, but it does bring out the fun side of a photoshoot and certainly gets some great photographs!
